Of course, we all know that memes spread exponentially, leading to 'viral growth'. Except they don't. Well, not for long, anyway.
And is it better to infect a lot of people each time, or a few people far more quickly. What happens if you start with more carriers? And what about people who change their minds?
We start this section looking at the circumstances under which exponential growth does occur, and then move on to the other questions we asked, and then finally look at these effects with a practical example.
